Style Inspiration

Welcome back!
Today's post is going to be a style inspiration of the so lovely Chiara Ferragni. Chiara, if you don't know is a blogger/fashion designer.  I have been following Chiara on instagram for a very long time now, and absolutely love her style. As a student its hard to wear the clothes she wears, as most of them are for shoots, catwalks, shows or events. This is why I decided to pick one of her more casual outfit combination that I can wear on a daily basis. Note that I have not purchased anything new for this style inspiration.

I think my twist on this look of Chiara turned out pretty well. I have worn this outfit to university but will also be wearing it on other occasions as it is a very versatile outfit. It can be altered such that instead of a denim jacket a flannel or army shirt with a more basic crop top would also work very well. Of course the accessories; sunglasses and bag could be changed to suit your taste.

Details of my outfit:
Denim jacket is from H&M Australia.
Crop top is from Supre.
Sunglasses are from Quay Australia.
Bag is from Defacto Turkey.
High waisted Jeans are from H&M Australia.
Black Booties are from Kmart Australia.
Nail polish is #370 White Absolute from Flormar.

Hope this blog post have inspired you to create your own twist either on my outfit combination or one of Chiara's. Please tag me on Instagram #layersofseasons

Ripped Jeans

Hey lovelies today's post is going to be about styling ripped jeans.
So ripped jeans have been in trend for quite some time now. This post will hopefully inspire you to style them a little different so you don't end up looking all the same as your friends.

I chose this particular style of ripped jeans that aren't baggy or have massive rips because it's more edgy rather than the popular ripped boyfriend/mum jeans.

Because my jeans are black, I wanted to keep it all one colour and wear a black top that has a geometric print on it. I paired it with some black ankle boots. I threw on a denim jacket to break all the black.

My bag is a old vintage bag which I'm in love with! It makes the outfit more quirky. This bag does have a story behind it and maybe one day I'll write a blog post about that too.

I did accessories this outfit with chokers and chunky rings although these details are not visible in the photos.

Hope you enjoyed this post and it that it will inspire you. Always dress a little different. It's fun to be unique! And tag me with the #layerspfseasons on Instagram showing me your take on ripped jeans or your style!

Until next time lovelies

70's Fashion

Today's post is going to be slightly different. As summer is approaching in Sydney I have decided to compile some of the trends that I'm looking forward to . I'm so excited about the come-back of the 70's fashion. This blog post is going to be about all my favourite pieces celebrities have been rocking whilst Australia was in winter.

Starting with Kendall Jenner. I'm obsessed with her pants! They're notexactly plaza pants which I already love, they're much more tight but still have flares.  Of course crop top is a must have for the summer. The long-sleeve crop top she is rocking is so good for those slightly windy summer days. Crop tops might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I personal love them.

With this outfit, straight out I'm excited about rocking some big, funky sunnies. I'm obsessed with sunglasses to begin with.
The reason I picked this outfit is because its a 70's combination. The whole outfit is perfection from the tied shirt to the shoes. In love!

Suede! suede ! Suede! Im so excited about suede, its been everywhere and I can't wait to pick up my own suede pieces. This below-knee suede skirt is so appropriate for the summer. It can be dressed up or down. A very versatile piece of item.

I am loving Vanessa's maxi dress. The cut outs, the split and floral- everything just adds to make this combination look effortless. Its definitely a flirty summer item.

If everyone is inspired by Taylor Swift then everyone will have a colourful wardrobes. As someone with a cupbaord full of black outfits, this summer I'm excited to add some colour and pattern to my wardrobe, much like Taylor's outfit here. The colour blocking and contracting patterns makes me love this outfit.

Hope you like this post. Do tell me what you think and also comment what trend you're excited about!

International Coffee Day

Hello there, as you probably have heard October 1st (yesterday) has officially been labelled as International Coffee Day! Of course I went for Coffee on International Coffee Day as a self labelled coffee addict.

I wanted to share with you guys the place I went to as I fell in love with it. Its located in the new shopping centre at Lidcombe -Power Centre, next to Woolworths.

The cafe is called Leaf Cafe with an amazing interior.  Its got a mysterious vibe; lit with light bulbs and has a rustic feel to it.

The service was quick and the staff are friendly. The best part was that they have free wi-fi, its not much but you can still flick through Instagram.
The Coffee was pretty good; very foamy. I had some muesli bites along with my coffee. They were very tasty!

Hope you like this short post. How you also had amazing coffee on International Coffee Day. Don't forget to tag me on Instagram if you know any cafes I should visit.

Wedding Outfit

Hey there!  I know that its been a while but last two weeks have been hectic for me but now we are back to schedule. Todays post will be an outfit one! This outfit can be worn for any event including wedding which is where I wore it to, but it can be worn for a night out or any celebratory events.

The main pieces of my outfit are actually vintage/hand me down from my aunty from when she was younger. The crop top is actually a vest but i prefer to wear it as a crop top. I fell in love with this vest when I saw, it has embroidery, the button details and the lace details was just perfect. Over it I wore what is almost like a chiffon cardigan but I refer to it as a my cape. The cape almost elevates the outfit and pulls it together. With this I wore my black high waisted jeans from H&M for $19.95. I paired the outfit with black stilettos and my big beige colour clutch for a pop of colour.

For jewellery I picked up these chunky almost angel wing shaped orange earnings and wore some rings and midi-rings from Forever 21 both has a total of $5 as they were on sale.

Hope this post inspires you and aid in creating your own outfits  from old pieces. Don't forget to tag me on Instagram if you do recreate this outfit with the #losvintagepieces

Outfit Ideas

Hey everyone, today is going to be quick post showing my outfit combinations. The two outfits I will show are perfect summer/spring outfits can be paired with a jacket for slightly colder regions.

To start with heres a simple black and white combination. Im wearing a striped cropped top from Stradivarius paired with high waisted skinny jeans from H&M.  As accessories I have my little side bag from Rubi and my sandals are from Kmart.  This is a very monochromic look which are my favourite.

The next outfit is jeans and blouse outfit. Im wearing a short sleeved white blouse from Mango with my black skinny jeans from Stradivarius. My bag is from Defacto and my shoes are from Kmart. The idea was to add some colour to a basic outfit with my bag and shoes.

Hope these outfit ideas are helpful. Make sure to tag me on Instagram with your outfit ideas.

Flormar Haul

Another weekly 'Hi!' to you all. So what's today's post? Well, something that is exciting. I think so anyway. Whilst on holiday, on my to do list was to visit one (or perhaps a few) of Flormar stores. Flormar for those who do not know is a cosmetics brand. I've been obsessed with their nail polish for many years and recently they have started a make-up line but unfortunately because they don't franchise to Australia, I couldn't buy any of it while in Australia. I was super excited to try their new make-up products. In store, I obviously brought new nail polishes to add to my ever growing collection.
I also brought a smoky-eye eyeshadow palate. The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and long lasting- perfect for night outs.

Of course I couldn't walk pass the lip linear with no purchase, as I had brought one before (You can see that one from my recent Turkey trip post). The lip liners are amazing especially considering how cheap they are. They are easily applied and are long lasting. As you can see I have already started using them. I picked up 224 and 233 which are deep purple and crimson in colour.

If you are fortunate enough to live near a Flormar store I would suggest you give them a visit. Highly recommend all products. Hope you enjoyed this post. See you next week!

Road trip

Whilst in Turkey we had a road trip around the Black Sea region. This region extends across Northern Turkey. The greenery of this place is just unbelievable! The trip began at Giresun where we went to the remains of the Giresun Castle, which has an epic top view of Giresun. You can see how mountainous and green this place is through the photo below. The road that takes you along the region is by the sea so you always have an amazing view as you drive.

After leaving central Giresun, we then made our way to a place called 'Yayla' which is where the locals go for summer vacation. This particular 'Yayla' has so many hills and is very green-ever green. Even though it was summer, it was pretty cold and very foggy.

The next city of the region we discovered was Trabzon. At Trabzon we wanted to see the Sumela Monastery. This place is hidden within the depths of the forest. However, not all of the monastery was open to public as it was under refurbishments though what we did see was incredible.

Here, the surrounding forest's beauty is enhanced by a river that flows so rapidly, I never knew that the flow of water could produce such a loud sound-much like a motorway.

This place displays so much history and amazes the human mind with how they built such a infrustrature at the time with limited machinery and tools. The monastery was obviously flowing with tourists but also had a lot of locals. We even got to chat with a fellow Sydney resident visiting the monastery.

We then made our way to Trabzons's famous 'Uzun Gol' which simply means long river in Turkish.  This is the sort of place you see on post cards. See for yourselves, it was just amazing. Its vastly tourist based but there are locals too. We walked around this massive lake and the view from all angles were breath taking. Much like the 'Yayla' it was cold here compared to other areas of the Black Sea.

These were the highlights of our road trip, we did make other short stops along the way. The few days  I spent on this trip have enabled me to make so many happy memories.
Hope you enjoyed looking at my road trip through my eyes.

Kız Kules

Hey there,

Today we are going to travel to the iconic building in the middle of the Bosphorus  known as Kiz Kulesi or Maiden's Tower. There are a lot of stories and myths behind why it was built but the most common one goes something like this:

An emperor had a daughter and an oracle prophesied that she would be killed on her 18th birthday by a venomous snake.  To protect his daughter, the emperor built a tower in the middle of the Bosphorus away from any danger. The emperor would frequently visit his daughter and he was the only one allowed.

On princess's 18th birthday, her father gifted her with the best and most exotic fruits around as he was thrilled he had prevented the prophecy. However, as the princess reached into the basket, a venomous snake, hiding in the basket bites the princess and she dies in her fathers arms, just as the prophecy had stated.

Kiz Kulesi is now like a museum accompanied by a cafe and restaurant. It is well loved by both tourists and the locals. From Kiz Kulesi you have a 360 degree view of Istanbul. It is mesmerising. The interior of the building is spectacular and has a unique decor. The structure itself is pretty amazing. I definitely would recommend visiting it. Hope you enjoyed the pictures I took.
P.s sorry for disappearing for a while. Unfortunately, I didn't have internet access everywhere on holiday which made blogging harder. I did constantly use Instagram so make sure you follow me there to keep updated :)

Dolmabahçe Palace

Turkey is not only full of culture, amazing food, generous people but also amazing ancient and modern architecture.
Recently I went to Dolmabahçe Palace. Dolmabahçe Palace was built for Sultan Abdülmecıd I and his family.  The palace was home to six Sultans but in 1924 its ownership was transferred to the national heritage of the new Turkish Republic.  Guided tours are available to view Dolmabahçe Palace.
The Palace is beyond words, it has amazing architecture and takes you back in time. I couldnt take photos inside as it is not permitted like many other museums but here are some of the photos I did take.

The interior of the palace is to die for. Each room and chamber contains a different style of interior structure. The chambers, paintings, the furniture as well as the garden of the palace is spectacular. I must not forget to mention its vıew-the Bosphorus. The Sultans did enjoy beautiful scenery let me tell you that! I strongly suggest a visit to this place. I repeat it is beyond words. Talk to you in my next post.
